Omo Bello sings at the 67th anniversary of the Liberation of Paris

Ms. Bello sang the Partisans Song (Le chant des Partisans) accompanied by the Orchestre des Gardiens de la Paix (directed by Pascale Jeandroz) on theforecourt of the city hall – l’Hôtel de Ville – in a special and moving tribute to the veterans of the Resistance and Liberation.

The French scenographer Daniel Charpentier designed the set and directed the commemoration of this great history of Paris, using the theme: "MEMORY OF RISING, TRIBUTE TO THE PEOPLE OF PARIS. In attendance were several war veterans and the Mayor of Paris, Bertrand Delanoë.

 

 

 


Omo Bello TAKES FIRST PRIZE AGAIN AT THE ANSELMO COLZANI INTERNATIONAL SINGING COMPETITION.

Not long after her triumph at the Luciano Pavarotti International singing competition, Omo bello was unanimously awarded the first prize at the Anselmo Colzani International singing competition in Budrio Italy.

The president of the jury was Sergio Segalini and also included Giovanbattista Varoli, Monica Faralli, Matteo Pais and Roberta Pedrotti. She will be returning to the Teatro Consorziale di Budrio to take on the role of Merlina in the opera 'Impressario in Angustie' by Domenico Cimarosa next season.

 


Omo Bello triumphs at Vercelli, winning the 1st Prize in the Luciano Pavarotti Giovani International Singing Competition

Nigerian soprano, Omo Bello is the first African singer to win the prestigious Luciano Pavarotti prize at the Gian Battista Viotti International competition. After 60 years of experience in the International Music Competition, the Gian Battista Viotti competiiton has added a new chapter, having enthusiastically accepted the proposal of the District 2030 of Rotary International to include a new section of the competition, called Giovani, dedicated to the memory one of the most popular contemporary Italian musicians from the audience throughout the world, the great tenor Luciano Pavarotti.

Luciano Pavarotti was himself for a long time member of the Rotary Club of Modena and in the course of his life had always show a great desire to help the musically gifted young people, who wished to devote himself to studying and perfecting the art of singing, following in the footsteps of his extraordinary musical journey. His daughter, Giuliana Pavarotti attended the final and, waiting for the response from the committee, she remembered the Maestro, his love for young singers and his passion for the beauty of life.

The jury of the competition included Luis Alva, Pietro Borgonovo, Cristina Ferrari, Gianni Gori, Eva Marton, Peter Theiler and Dmitry Vdovin. This first prize which is a $ 23,000 grant was awarded by Rotary International Foundation. Ms Bello is thus an ambassador of the Rotary Club. She was described by the music critic Gianni Gori as ‘A talent of Gold’.

 


Omo Bello supports CHARITY Concert in aid of the Victims of Vera Cruz, Mexico

Ms Bello took part in a benefit concert to raise money for the victims of the September 2010 hurricane Karl that swept through Vera Cruz in Mexico, taking lives and destroying property.
The concert which featured Mexican music by composers such as Maria Grever, Manuel Ponce, and Jose Rolon took place in Paris and the benefits of this concert were given to the Red Cross.

 


Omo Bello gives a sensational performance at OPERABUJA 2010

Nigeria’s number one opera artiste, Omo Bello, along with Dare Art-Alade; wife of German Ambassador, Cecilia Toledo de Schmillen and the young AMEMUCITOs, made the Operabuja 2010 to live up to its billing with brilliant performances by the artistes and AMEMUSO Choir. The first lady, Dame Patience Goodluck was in attendance, and she implored the choir and Nigerian youth not to only use the opportunity to develop themselves, but also make the society a better place.

According to the wife of German Ambassador, Cecilia Toledo de Schmillen, “The concert is a meeting place for nationals of different countries. Omo Bello is a Nigerian sponsored by the French and has become an international star. We will reinforce the fact that we are one people though we speak different languages.”

Ms Bello was dressed in an exquisite turquoise evening gown, designed for her by the Fashion designer MOMO.
